Support
We're a small team, and a real person reads every message.
Email info@buzzbaby.org and we'll come back to you within two business days. Telling us which phone you have and what you were doing when it went wrong usually saves a round trip.
Common questions
What happens to the photo I take?
Point the camera at the room, not at your child. BuzzBaby is looking for the objects around you. To work out what's in the shot, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to a third-party AI service, which sends back a list of the objects it recognised. The app builds activities from that list.
The photo is saved to your child's profile on our servers, so we can show the scan back to you. We never sell it, it is never used for advertising, and it is not used to train a public AI model. Deleting your account deletes it. A profile picture you choose is different, and never leaves your phone at all. Our Privacy Policy sets the whole path out, including how long an image is kept.
You can also refuse camera access entirely and still use the rest of the app.
How do I delete my account?
Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Those are billed by Apple and Google, and they keep charging until you cancel them.
Then open BuzzBaby, tap your profile, and choose Delete account. You don't need to email us or wait for approval.
You are signed out straight away. For 14 days we can still restore the account if you change your mind, and within 30 days everything is purged for good, including from our backups. That includes anything you recorded in the Tracker.
If you've already removed the app and can't sign in, delete your account from the web instead.
What ages is BuzzBaby for?
Birth to six years. What the app suggests changes as your child grows, which is why it asks for a birthdate during setup. In the early years it works across the five developmental areas, and from around three it leans toward school readiness and doing things independently.
How do I cancel Plus?
Plus is billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so you cancel in your phone's own settings rather than by emailing us. Cancelling does not close your account: you keep the free tier, with the tracker, the portrait, the library for the ages your child has reached, and a scan a day.
On iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › BuzzBaby › Cancel Subscription. On Android: Play Store › your profile › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions › BuzzBaby. If your plan came with a free trial, cancelling during it stops you being charged, and you keep Plus until the period you have already paid for runs out.
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, Google in the Play Store order history. If something has gone wrong, write to us anyway and we'll help you sort it out.
I paid for Plus, but the app has not unlocked it.
Open the app's settings and choose Restore purchases, making sure you're signed in with the same Apple or Google account you bought it with. If that doesn't fix it, email info@buzzbaby.org and tell us which phone you're on.
My child's birthdate is wrong. Can I change it?
Yes. Open your child's profile in the app and edit it. What you're shown updates straight away.
Does BuzzBaby tell me if my child is behind?
No, and it never will. BuzzBaby doesn't rank, score or grade children, and it won't compare your child to anyone else's. It suggests things to play, based on where your child is now.
If you have a concern about your child's development, the person to talk to is your own doctor or public health nurse.
Do I need to buy anything to use the activities?
No. Every activity uses things you already have at home, or nothing at all.
Is BuzzBaby a medical or diagnostic tool?
No. BuzzBaby suggests activities to play with your child and keeps a record of what you have tried together. It cannot tell you whether your child's development is typical, it cannot spot a problem, and it is not a substitute for advice from your doctor or public health nurse.
The app won't let me use the camera.
Camera access is granted by your phone, not by us. On iPhone, open Settings › BuzzBaby and turn on Camera. On Android, open Settings › Apps › BuzzBaby › Permissions. You can use the rest of the app without it.
I found something wrong in an activity.
Please tell us at info@buzzbaby.org. Content that's inaccurate, or unsafe for the age it's shown at, is the thing we most want to hear about. We'd rather hear it twice than not at all.
